The unit really presents as the linear joint of two isolators of 30 dB. Principles of operation are the same ones as those in case of 30 dB isolator. Basic elements are: two nonlinear optical rotators TGG crystals and three polarizers.

Several types of unit design are available (see table). The most of unit parts are manufactured of chemically blackened aluminum alloy. Thread brass cellars are galvanized.
